Lynch trades “yeah” for “nope”

Lost in the things said by 49ers officials and/or their family members after Thursday’s Seattle win in Santa Clara was the latest exercise by Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch in saying nothing.

Nope,” Lynch told reporters after the game. “That’s what I got today, I got ‘nope’. It was ‘yep’ last week, it’s ‘no’ this week. So if that’s what y’all wanna do with y’all time. . . .”

The NFL didn’t fine Lynch for last week’s repeated use of “yeah” in response to questions that didn’t call for a “yeah” or a “nope.” But this week’s stunt was far closer to open defiance of the NFL’s media policy, setting the stage for further discipline.

Lynch was fined $100,000 for failing to talk to reporters after a November 16 loss to the Chiefs.
