The Bears’ receiving depth has taken a hit.
Second-year wideout Marquess Wilson, who was in line for more playing time this season, sustained a broken clavicle in Monday’s training camp practice, the club’s official Twitter feed said this afternoon.
Just 21 years old, Wilson (6-4, 194) was a seventh-round pick of Chicago in 2013.
With Wilson potentially out for an extended stretch, Eric Weems and Josh Morgan are among the options to become the Bears’ third wideout beyond starters Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery.
Including Wilson, the Bears have 10 wide receivers on their roster. Earl Bennett, whom the Bears released earlier in the offseason, is among the notable receivers available in free agency.
