Maurice Jones-Drew’s disappointing week started with him apologizing for his performance against the Colts. The work week will end without him practicing once all week.
Tania Ganguli of the Florida Times-Union reports Jones-Drew missed his third straight practice Friday because of his knee injury. Ganguli points out that no Jaguars player that has missed a Friday practice all season has played on Sunday.
Jones-Drew has never missed a game to injury, and the Jaguars could break from precedent for their best player. Jacksonville can still slip into the playoffs if the Colts help them out with a loss in Oakland Sunday, which both Florio and I predict. (Which means it won’t happen.)
The Colts held Jones-Drew to only 46 rushing yards last week.
UPDATE: Jones-Drew is officially listed as doubtful. Jay Glazer of FOX reports he is “OUT” barring a miraculous turnaround.
