Earlier this month, former Texas A&M quarterback Stephen McGee told our pal Monty of the aptly-named The Monty Show on Sporting News Radio that McGee wants to play for the Cowboys. He must have had a lucky cat’s foot in his hand at the time, because his wish is coming true. The Cowboys picked McGee with the first pick in round four. “[T]hat Dallas visit will be huge for me because growing up here in Texas I had Troy Aikman and so forth on my wall for a long time now,” McGee told Monty. “I’m so excited to be one of the guys to go on the visit and if I have the opportunity to play in Dallas I know that I would be thrilled and honored.” Starter Tony Romo wasn’t drafted at all. So maybe McGee will be even better. Or, at a minimum, maybe he won’t fumble the snap on a game-winning field goal try in a playoff game.
