NFL deletes tweet that arguably trolled Tom Brady

In September, the NFL quickly dumped from Twitter a photo of potential Super Bowl quarterbacks that omitted Tom Brady. Earlier today, the league did it again.

Posted at 12:00 p.m. ET, the tweet said, “If the postseason started today . . . Introducing your starting QBs for AFC playoffs teams.” The photo showed Broncos quarterback Brock Osweiler, Bengals quarterback A.J. McCarron, Texans quarterback Brian Hoyer, Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith, and Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Omitted was Brady. And the tweet disappeared not long after it was posted.

The absence of Brady from the photo made sense, because the tweet linked to an article that emphasized the unusual collection of quarterbacks not named Brady. Still, perception is reality, and the league that would promptly suspend Brady for Week 17 and three postseason games if he were to abandon the litigation that has blocked a four-game #DeflateGate banishment has now twice deleted photos that could be interpreted as disrespecting the guy who took the NFL to court and won.
