If the Jets offense struggles terribly once again on Sunday, fans are going to have to chant for Greg McElroy if they want to see a quarterback change.
As expected after reports at the end of the week, the Jets have made quarterback Tim Tebow inactive for Sunday’s game against the Cardinals. Tebow was active for Week 12 against the Patriots, but never played a snap because of broken ribs that coach Rex Ryan said he could have played with after the game.
Given how much the Jets actually use Tebow, his absence won’t be any as big a loss as the one the Cardinals face with defensive end Calais Campbell unable to play. It’s a third straight game on the sideline for Campbell, who is battling a calf injury. There was some hope he’d be able to play early in the week, but things haven’t broken the right way for Campbell or the Cardinals. David Carter will start in his place.
Wide receiver Andre Roberts is also out for the Cardinals. He missed practice all week because of an ankle injury. Rookie Michael Floyd will start in his place as the Cardinals try to snap a seven-game losing streak.
