If you’re an out-of-work interior offensive lineman, you should probably be forwarding your resume to the Cowboys.
Guard Nate Livings missed Friday’s practice with a hamstring injury, which put him on the sideline alongside three other interior linemen. Guard Mackenzy Bernadeau and guard/center Kevin Kowalski haven’t practiced at all in camp and guard/center Bill Nagy went down with the dreaded high-ankle sprain earlier this week.
“We’ve got to get some guys in here who can play,” coach Jason Garrett said, via the Dallas Morning News.
Three veteran candidates were at Cowboys camp trying out on Friday. Derrick Dockery, Montrae Holland and Daniel Loper were all in Oxnard and all fit the bill of what the Cowboys need right now. They all played for the Cowboys last season which would allow them to jump right into the mix at practice without slowing up the rest of the unit.
All of them were let go from the Cowboys because they weren’t good enough last season, however, so it’s far from an ideal situation if the Cowboys need to go into the season with any of them playing a major role.
