Osweiler says Peyton taught him to be a pro

There’s been some talk since Brock Osweiler signed with the Texans that he has hard feelings toward the Broncos for benching him in favor of Peyton Manning for the team’s postseason run. But Osweiler says he has nothing but warm feelings for Manning himself.

Osweiler told the Texans’ website that he considers the four seasons he spent with Manning to be a master’s course in quarterbacking.

“When you start talking about what I’ve learned from Peyton and what I’ve pulled from him, we would need hours to get to the full list,” Osweiler said. “The thing I truly pulled away from Peyton is how to be a pro on a daily basis, how to be the same guy Monday through Sunday, whether it’s April or whether it’s November. I’ll always be very appreciative for Peyton. Whether he knew it or not, I was watching him and he taught me how to be a pro.”

Even if Osweiler does have hard feelings for the Broncos, there’s no reason for him to have hard feelings toward Manning. And it’s smart of him to portray himself as a player who learned from a future Hall of Famer.
