Pro-Cowboys banner funded by Greg Hardy buzzes Eagles practice
Jets fans aren’t the only ones trying to get under the skin of a rival club by flying a plane over their practice this summer.
A group of Cowboys fans raised money to fly a banner over Sunday’s Eagles workout and the Dallas Morning News reported last month that they got some help from one actual member of the team. Defensive end Greg Hardy chipped in $300 to the effort and a plane trailing a banner that read “WE STILL DEM BOYZ #SACKSCOMING” circled Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday.
The plane’s arrival was met with boos from the fans who turned out to watch practice and Eagles players also took notice. Linebacker DeMeco Ryans said it “seems like they are concerned about us” and Connor Barwin said the Eagles will be ready for a Week Two matchup with the Cowboys. Hardy is suspended for that game and right tackle Lane Johnson said he might want to find a better use for his money in the future.
“They said Greg Hardy paid money to fly it over, a waste of money,” Johnson said, via WPVI. “Whatever, kinda stupid to me.”
