With the Panthers and Broncos making it to the Super Bowl, 14 spots have been created for the Pro Bowl roster. Which has given the Raiders their fifth member of the Pro Bowl experience.
Running back Latavius Murray has gotten a spot in the game, the Raiders have announced. It will Murray’s first trip to the NFL’s all-star-minus-Super-Bowl-stars game, replacing Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart.
Murray rushed for 1,066 yards in 2015, making him the first Raider since 2010 to crack four figures. He joins Derek Carr, Amari Cooper, Khalil Mack, and Charles Woodson as Raiders in the Pro Bowl.
The release sent by the Raiders includes fullback Marcel Reece in the list of team Pro Bowlers, giving them six. However, Reece’s PED suspension keeps him from playing.
Either way, the recognition for a Raiders team that has largely struggled since making it to the Super Bowl 13 years ago will give fans hope for 2016.
