Although their win didn’t land them a division title, the Falcons aren’t feeling any less bullish about their playoff chances. Falcons RB Jerious Norwood’s 45-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter was only one of several big plays he made on Sunday. Norwood’s backfield partner RB Michael Turner ran for 208 yards and a touchdown. Said Rams QB Marc Bulger, “I know we got our butts kicked a lot this year. But as Coach (Jim) Haslett said, it’s never been the (lack of) effort. Last year, you could maybe have mentioned that. The heart. Rams RB Steven Jackson rushed for 161 yards, giving him 1,040 for the season and making him the first Ram to rush for 1,000 yards in four straight seasons since Eric Dickerson. Falcons QB Matt Ryan completed 10-of-21 passes for 160 yards and two interceptions. Said Ryan, “We didn’t play our best, but we took care of business when we had to. We didn’t play as well as we would have liked. You just have to do whatever it takes to win.” G Richie Incognito was a late scratch, leaving the Rams with two backups starting on the offensive line. Said Rams coach Jim Haslett of the Falcons, “This is the team you want to resemble next year.”
