Randy Moss fined $25,000 for not cooperating with media

After staying mum in Minnesota for three weeks before a quick one-on-one chat Thursday, Vikings receiver Randy Moss was fined $25,000 by the NFL for not cooperating with media policy.

Chip Scoggins of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports a league spokesman said Moss was “in violation of NFL policy, his player contract, and the NFL Collective Bargaining Agreement.”

There are probably reporters in New England wondering why this didn’t happen sooner. Moss’ silence with the Vikings got more attention, but he went long stretches with the Patriots where he didn’t talk to anyone either.

We hear Moss was warned in New England previously and was asked to cooperate by the Vikings and the NFL numerous times the last two weeks. A formal complaint was filed by the Minnesota media.
