Ravens to sign Mike Wallace Tuesday

The Ravens brought veteran wide receiver Mike Wallace in for a visit on Monday that spilled over into Tuesday and Wallace’s stay looks set to extend well beyond that.

The team announced on Tuesday afternoon that Wallace is meeting with coach John Harbaugh and that he is “expected to agree to a contract this afternoon.” While that’s not the same as announcing a done deal, it would be a surprise if things were to go in the other direction at this point.

Wallace will join a receiving corps that will get Steve Smith back from an Achilles tear that wiped out much of last season and hopes to see Breshad Perriman play in a game for the first time since being selected him in the first round last year. Wallace isn’t recovering from an injury, but is trying to rebound as a deep threat after failing to hit in that role with either the Dolphins or the Vikings.

Given Joe Flacco’s history with throwing the deep ball, he should get chances to make that happen as the 2016 season unfolds in Baltimore.

UPDATE 2:19 p.m. ET: The Ravens have scheduled a 3:30 p.m. press conference to formally announce Wallace’s addition.
