Florio mentioned this morning that Tom Brady was leading a Patriots player-only workout for the first time.

And since we have nothing better to write about while we listen to Florio yammer on PFT Live, we may as well update what went on at the workout.

Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston.com reports from an undisclosed location that 40-50 Patriots showed up for the session.

(Sources have confirmed the team didn’t congregate at a nearby water park.)

Shalise Manza Young of the Boston Globe reports that that just about every starter on both sides of the ball were in attendance. Included in that group: Tight end Aaron Hernandez, defensive end Ty Warren, and defensive lineman Mike Wright.

All three players ended last season hurt, with Hernandez undergoing post-season hip surgery. A host of Patriots rookies including Ryan Mallett and running back Shane Vereen were also there.
