Redskins think they can bounce back like they did in 2007

The Washington Redskins are reeling from a loss in which they gave up more than 50 points, but some players in the Redskins’ locker room say they know they can bounce back because they’ve done it before.

In 2007, the Redskins lost 52-7 to the Patriots, dropping their record to 5-7, but they then won four straight games and made the playoffs. Redskins linebacker London Fletcher wants everyone to remember that.

We showed a lot of people what we were about then,” Fletcher said, per the Washington Post.

The Redskins’ run that season is remembered largely for the way the team responded after the death of Sean Taylor. Fletcher thinks what the 2007 Redskins overcame shows that the 2010 Redskins can definitely be a playoff team.

“Obviously, we had a lot going on,” Fletcher said. “It was a tough season for a lot of reasons, but guys responded. That’s what we need to do now. Just forget about this, get back to the things we need to do and just go out and play good football again. We have to do it. We have no choice.”
