Report: Broncos expected to bring Russell Okung in for visit

Okung

With other teams which had been interested in him moving on, Russell Okung is expanding the list of teams he’s interested in.

According to Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports, the Seahawks free agent left tackle is expected to visit the Broncos.

Denver lost left tackle Ryan Harris to the Steelers (who then stopped being interested in Okung), and there’s some degree of uncertainty about the future of incumbent Ryan Clady.

Clady’s scheduled to make $9.5 million next year, and has indicated he’d be willing to talk to the Broncos about a restructure. Since he’s coming off a torn ACL, giving him a pay cut seems like something the team would be very interested in.

So Okung’s arrival (or the suggestion of such arrival) might be enough to spark those talks. Like Raiders tackle Donald Penn threatening to visit the Giants leading to a deal in Oakland, sometimes the threat of a visit is enough to make things happen.
