Bengals assistant coaches aren’t the only ones drawing interest from teams looking for new hires this offseason.

Director of player personnel Duke Tobin has reportedly drawn interest from both the Lions and Titans as they search for new General Managers, but it doesn’t appear the interest is mutual. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Tobin has rebuffed their requests for interviews and plans to remain in the Bengals front office.

The Bengals don’t have a General Manager as members of the Brown family oversee personnel decisions. Tobin is the highest ranking member of the department that isn’t part of the family and has been in the Bengals organization since 1999.

His father Bill Tobin was once the top personnel man for the Bears and Colts. His stint with the latter team led to a memorable war of words with Mel Kiper of ESPN after the Colts selected Trev Alberts with the fifth pick of the 1994 draft.
