Dolphins defensive end Dion Jordan may still be a couple weeks from being medically cleared to practice, but ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Monday night that the NFL has cleared Jordan to return when he’s ready.

Jordan was conditionally reinstated last month. The Dolphins then put Jordan on the non-football injury list after a knee issue caused Jordan to fail his physical.

His being cleared by the NFL is a sign that the league is satisfied with Jordan’s cooperation with its reinstatement standards. Those included Jordan setting up clinical services in the Miami area and a meeting with league officials before he’s allowed to play in regular season games.

The Dolphins have welcomed Jordan at least back into their building, and now they need him to continue to rehab his knee so he can return to the practice field.
