B.J. Daniels has spent this season bouncing between the Seahawks practice squad and their active roster, but it looks like he won’t be ending the year with the organization.

According to multiple reports, the Texans have signed Daniels off of Seattle’s practice squad as they try to shore up the quarterback position in the wake of T.J. Yates tearing his ACL in Sunday’s victory over the Colts. Per Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle, the Texans contacted Daniels on Sunday night and the Seahawks were unhappy about losing him.

Daniels has spent time as both a quarterback and wide receiver since entering the NFL, but was strictly a quarterback in college at South Florida. He’ll slot in behind Brandon Weeden, who replaced Yates on Sunday, as long as Brian Hoyer remains in the concussion protocol and out of the lineup.

Daniels has seen action in six games this season, catching two passes for 18 yards and returning one punt for seven yards.
