There are a number of players in the first round of this year’s NFL Draft who will be looking for a second chance.

And there’s a decent chance that some of them should consider stocking up on warm clothes, because few are as interested in providing them and delighting in them when they work out as Rex Ryan.

Via Tyler Dunne of the Buffalo News, the Bills head coach is more than willing to try, and could clearly find use for a guy such as Noah Spence or Robert Nkemdiche if they were to fall to the 19th spot in the order.

“First off, I don’t think any of us would be here without a second chance,” Ryan said. “Certainly, that weighs into it. But you also want to know, is this a problem that’s going to be persistent or has been persistent in the young man’s life? You have to weigh those things obviously. It’s a huge investment that you make as a franchise.

“So not everybody comes in and you say, ‘Absolutely, this guy’s fine.’ Maybe he’s not fine. There’s things that you have to look at. Obviously, that’s part of the process.”

The Bills have already become a safe haven for second chances, with some of them working out (Richie Incognito, Ronald Darby), some of them not so much (IK Enemkpali) and some of them on the verge of becoming a mess (LeSean McCoy).

But while a number of prospects leaving Indianapolis with red flags, with a bullish personality like Ryan’s, they often just draw his attention.
