RG3 has nothing to say on his way out the door Monday
Washington-for-now quarterback Robert Griffin III said his goodbyes on the sideline yesterday.
Today, as he cleaned out his locker for the last time, he didn’t have anything to add.
According to Liz Clarke of the Washington Post, Griffin told reporters this morning that he didn’t have anything to say. He shook his head no when asked if he was bitter, but offered nothing else.
Say what you want about his benching or the reasons for it, but he’s handled the aftermath the appropriate way. It would have been easy enough for him to be a distraction, but teammates credited him for not being one throughout the season, after Kirk Cousins took his job and made it his own.
It’s obvious Washington isn’t going to keep him around at $16.2 million for next season, leaving the only question the how and the where he plays next.
And by taking the high road on his way out the door, Griffin has probably made that process easier.
