Washington running back Robert Kelley was able to do something the Packers can’t right now, which is why his team is leading.

Kelley’s 10-yard touchdown run just before halftime gave Washington a 13-10 lead, which would have been a point bigger but for a failed two-point conversion attempt.

While his stats aren’t eye-popping (eight carries for 35 yards), he’s a legitimate running threat, which helps Kirk Cousins sell play-action and makes the whole thing work.

While a four-point lead might have been nice, and the wind is certainly complicating kicks, it was awfully early for Jay Gruden to make such a call.

Washington’s held the Packers to just 127 yards of total offense so far, keeping the Packers from getting into any kind of rhythm.
