Roddy White won’t play Friday, neither will Devonta Freeman or Tevin Coleman

The Falcons announced the names of the players who will be sitting out against the Jets on Friday night and it’s not surprise to see running backs Devonta Freeman, Tevin Coleman and Antone Smith on the inactive list.

All three running backs have been battling hamstring injuries and the team is electing not to push them at this point. There was some hope that Freeman and Coleman could play, but their preseason debuts will have to wait for another week at least.

More surprising is the news that wide receiver Roddy White will be on the sideline for the game. The team announced that White, who practiced all week, has an elbow injury and said that there will be more information about his status after the game. Leonard Hankerson will see more snaps with White out of the lineup.

Thirteen Jets will sit out and most of them -- Muhammad Wilkerson, Geno Smith, Jace Amaro -- were ruled out long ago. Safety Calvin Pryor isn’t hurt, but he’s been away from the team all week after a death in his family and remains out on Friday night.
