The Steelers look likely to have at least two starters back in the lineup Sunday at Cincinnati.
Left inside linebacker Ryan Shazier and right tackle Marcus GIlbert are both expected to be available in Week 14, Steelers coach Mike Tomlin indicated at his Tuesday press conference. Shazier and Gilbert were both inactive with ankle injuries in Sunday’s loss to New Orleans.
The Steelers’ first-round pick in May, Shazier has been limited to just five games (all starts) because of injuries, notching 26 tackles. Gilbert, meanwhile, has started all 10 games in which he’s played.
Tomlin also indicated outside linebacker Jarvis Jones (wrist) will take part in practice this week and could also potentially return.
“We want him to take another step as we go out on the practice field tomorrow and see if we have a decision to make regarding him this week,” Tomlin said, according to a transcript from the club. “He possibly could be an asset to us in this football game.”
Jones, who remains on injured reserve/designated for return, has missed the last nine games for Pittsburgh (7-5).
The 25-year-old Jones was the Steelers’ No. 1 pick in 2013. He started the first three games, recording 14 tackles and two sacks.
