The Eagles re-signed quarterback Sam Bradford and then added Chase Daniel in free agency, but the presence of those two doesn’t appear to have done much to dim their interest in the quarterbacks available in this year’s draft.
Several of the top prospects have spent time with the Eagles during the pre-draft process and the team was reportedly trying to make a deal with the Titans for the No. 1 pick before Tennessee traded it to the Rams. Rams coach Jeff Fisher said that the second-round pick they got from the Eagles in last year’s trade for Bradford was a key to getting the trade done, but Bradford himself says he hasn’t given much thought to the possibility of another addition to the quarterback room.
Bradford said Tuesday that he hasn’t spoken to anyone in the front office about the draft plans and that he won’t “worry about anything I can’t control.”
“I really don’t pay attention to any of that stuff,” Bradford said, via the Philadelphia Inquirer. “If it happens, it’s something I’ll deal with when it happens. But if it doesn’t happen, there’s really no sense in wasting time or thought or energy on that.”
Bradford is able to be a full participant in the offseason program for the first time since 2013 and getting the team’s new offense down well enough to fend off current or future challengers for the job should be enough to keep him busy through the draft.
