The NFC’s reigning Defensive Player of the Week may not get a chance to defend his award.
Bears defensive end Shea McClellin is doubtful for Sunday’s game vs. Detroit with a hamstring injury, head coach Marc Trestman said Friday, per multiple media outlets, including ESPNChicago.com.
McClellin was limited with the injury on Thursday.
The Bears’ starting left end, McClellin garnered the NFC honor after notching a career-high three sacks in Monday’s win at Green Bay. On the first of his sacks, Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers suffered a broken collarbone. McClellin would add two more sacks of backup Seneca Wallace in the fourth quarter.
Cornelius Washington and David Bass are listed as the Bears’ reserve defensive ends.
