The Steelers lost a home game to the previously winless Buccaneers on Sunday in a result that’s sure to lead to complaining from the team’s many fans.
One of the most famous ones has already weighed in on Instagram. Snoop Dogg has posted a video in which he calls for the firing of Steelers offensive coordinator Todd Haley in language that’s not safe for work, school or most other places where you might decide to watch it in public.
The author of “Gin and Juice” has shared his displeasure with Haley in the past and he’ll likely have some company around Steeler Nation this time around. The main sticking point is likely to be a third-down draw play to Le’Veon Bell late in the fourth quarter that was stuffed by the Bucs defense. That led to a punt that gave Mike Glennon 40 seconds to get the Bucs into the end zone, a task he accomplished to give Lovie Smith his first win as Tampa head coach.
As much as that first down would have helped, Snoop Dogg and others would be wise to look at other factors for the Steelers loss. Thirteen penalties were hard to overcome and their defense gave up 155 yards on five big plays during scoring drives in the second half, including the 41-yard play by Louis Murphy that set up the winning score.
Sunday’s loss was a team effort all the way.
