Many of us non-Missourians assumed that the intention of Stan Kroenke to buy the 60-percent chunk of the Rams that he doesn’t currently own means that the franchise would remain in St. Louis, given that Kroenke is a Missouri native.
Bernie Miklasz of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch makes a great point in this regard. Kroenke’s statement of his intention to buy out Chip Rosenbloom and Lucia Rodriguez says nothing about the franchise’s location.
“I wasn’t the only person who picked up on that,” Miklasz writes, later adding that if Kroenke wishes to comment on the team’s future in St. Louis, “there’s no shortage of STL media folks who will be pleased to get the word out.”
Meanwhile, Los Angeles Times columnist T.J. Simers (via Miklasz) points out the connections between Kroenke and L.A., and concludes that the Rams could return to Southern California as soon as 2015.
