It’s looking less and less likely that Matthew Stafford will get the chance to play through pain for a second straight week.
Stafford was officially listed as doubtful Wednesday for Detroit’s annual Thanksgiving game, so Daunte Culpepper is very likely to start against the Packers. Stafford has a separated left (non-throwing) shoulder.
America could be treated to a Culpepper-to-Northcutt connection if top receiver Calvin Johnson also misses the game. Megatron is officially questionable with hand and knee injuries. Defensive end Dewayne White (toe) is also doubtful. Safety Louis Delmas (ankle) and guard Daniel Loper (back) are also questionable.
For the Packers, starting center Scott Wells returned to practice Wednesday and is listed as probable, like eight of his teammates. Ahman Green is doubtful, so Brandon Jackson should get plenty of work behind Ryan Grant.
We hope not to see too much of Jackson, because that will mean a blowout is occuring.
Maybe Culpepper can treat us all to a Thanksgiving miracle instead.
