Seattle Seahawks safety Earl Thomas did not practice Wednesday after suffering an injured left shoulder in Sunday’s NFC Championship victory over the Green Bay Packers.
Thomas was injured in the second quarter when he landed hard on his left side while attempting a tackle (pictured) of Packers receiver/running back Randall Cobb. He returned to the game following a brief trip to the locker room and finished the contest despite the injury.
Head coach Pete Carroll said after the game he believed both Thomas and cornerback Richard Sherman, who injured his left elbow, would be fine in time for Super Bowl XLIX.
Sherman fully participated in practice Wednesday and said he was sticking by his comments that he would “100 percent” be playing in the game.
Also sidelined Wednesday for Seattle were right guard J.R. Sweezy (ankle) and long snapper Clint Gresham (neck). Defensive end Michael Bennett and running back Marshawn Lynch were given the day off from practice.
The New England Patriots did not practice on Wednesday, so their injury report is purely as estimation for if they had practiced.
Center Bryan Stork was estimated to be unable to take part in practice due to a knee injury suffered in the Patriots divisional round victory over the Baltimore Ravens.
Quarterback Tom Brady was listed as a full participant with an ankle injury. Cornerback Brandon Browner (knee), linebacker Donta Hightower (shoulder), defensive tackle Chris Jones (elbow), receiver Brandon LaFell (shoulder/toe) and defensive lineman Sealver Siliga (foot) were listed as limited.
