On the night when Brett Favre’s 297 consecutive start streak ended, we were reminded how it’s not always easy to remain in the lineup two straight games.

Vikings quarerback Tarvaris Jackson and Adrian Peterson collided in the backfield on a handoff, knocking knees before collapsing to the ground. Both players had to come out of the game for a play, and backup quarterback Joe Webb threw an incompletion.

Both players returned to the game on the next series, after Eli Manning threw his second interception.

The Vikings lead 3-0 early in the second quarter in a sleepy, sloppy affair. The atmosphere seems just as odd and quiet as you’d expect considering it’s a neutral site game that was planned one day in advance.

UPDATE: Giants have the lead 7-3 after a six-play, 89-yard drive that was keyed by a 73-yard Brandon Jacobs run. It was the longest run of his career.
