The Texans will be looking for a new offensive line coach in the coming weeks.

John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reports that the team fired current position coach Paul Dunn after one season with the team. McClain cites the vague desire to move in a different direction as the rationale behind making a change.

Dunn came on board for Bill O’Brien’s first season as head coach and things went well enough up front for the Texans to rank fifth in the league in rushing while also allowing the fourth-fewest sacks. That’s not all due to the offensive line, of course, and it would seem that O’Brien and the Texans felt that those numbers didn’t accurately reflect Dunn’s contributions to the roster. It’s the first change to the team’s coaching staff this offseason.

Dunn had been the offensive line coach for the Falcons for two seasons before coming to Houston.
