The Texans have re-signed a player whom they did not tender in restricted free agency, reaching a deal with offensive guard Cody White.
The signing was disclosed in the NFL’s Thursday transactions.
The 26-year-old White missed the 2014 season after tearing an Achilles tendon in training camp. He spent the 2012 season on the Texans’ practice squad and the 2013 season on the roster, appearing in one game. An Illinois State product, White (6-3, 305) signed with Houston in 2012 after going undrafted.
Before re-signing with the Texans, White met with the Jets in free agency, he indicated to Scout.com. The Jets’ new General Manager, Mike Maccagnan, was formerly the Texans’ director of college scouting.
