Texans Sign Buster Davis

Cato June wasn’t the only former Colts linebacker to sign with the Texans on Saturday. The team also announced that they’ve come to terms with Buster Davis. Davis signed a one-year deal worth $445,000, according to Paul Kuharsky of ESPN.com. He was an exclusive rights free agent entering the offseason and signed a tender with the Colts on March 13, but he was waived on March 31. Davis played six games for the Colts in 2008, and he started three as middle linebacker in place of the injured Gary Brackett. Davis was originally drafted by the Cardinals out of Florida State in the third round of the 2007 draft. He didn’t make the team, however, and played one game with the Lions during the 2007 season. Davis and June join DeMeco Ryans, Xavier Adibi, Zac Diles, Kevin Bentley, Chaun Thompson, and Kevis Coley in the Texans linebacker corps.
