THE BUCS STOP . . . HERE

Following a late-season collapse that ultimately cost coach Jon Gruden his job, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today that they will not increase season ticket prices for the 2009 campaign. The team cited economic conditions as the driving force to not raise prises, not its lagging performance on the field. The Buccaneers will keep their various general season ticket prices at $99, $89, $75, $65, $55, $50, and $42 per game with the low end of the ticket scale reportedly ranking among the lowest-priced seats in the NFL. Meanwhile, club seat pricing aren’t going up, either. “During these tough economic times, we understand the difficult situation many of our fans are facing and feel it was the right thing to do to keep our prices the same for 2009 as they were in 2000,” director of ticketing and sales Jason Layton said in a statement. The Buccaneers issued a reminder to fans that season ticket packages will only reflect nine home games because an October 25, 2009 “home” game will be held in London against the New England Patriots.
