Two weeks later, no Greg Hardy decision

Two weeks ago today, hearing officer Harold Henderson reduced the 10-game suspension imposed by Commissioner Roger Goodell on Cowboys defensive end Greg Hardy to four games.

As of now, Hardy still hasn’t decided whether to further challenge the reduced suspension in court.

Per a league source, Hardy is still exploring his options with the NFL Players Association. The source also called it a “fluid situation.”

Hardy has several options. One of them is to do nothing. So far, that’s the one he has chosen.

Eventually, it will be too late to do anything else, especially if he’s considering trying to get any lawsuit challenging the suspension resolved before the time comes to serve the extra two games beyond the two-game suspension that the NFLPA believes the Personal Conduct Policy in place at the time of the conduct mandates.

By waiting, Hardy also could jeopardize his ability to persuade a court to allow him to play pending the resolution of the case, since the NFL could argue that Hardy’s delay in filing the lawsuit helped cause any looming time crunch.
