USC gets two-year postseason ban and other penalties

The legacy of former USC coach Pete Carroll official bears a coat of tarnish. Whether Saints running back Reggie Bush will be required to surrender his 2005 Heisman Trophy remains to be seen.

Bruce Feldman of ESPN reports (via SportsByBrooks.com) that the Trojans have received a two-year postseason ban, along with other penalties.

That means no bowl game for the perennial January 1 powerhouse this season or next. All because of stuff that happened when Carroll was the coach.

Look for more details to emerge in the coming days. For now, the only thing we can infer is that Jim Mora apparently was right all along about Carroll.

UPDATE: Our friends at CFT have more details. They’ve also politely asked us to “keep [our] f--king noses out” of matters relating to college football.
