Vikings RB Adrian Peterson ended a bad week with only 19 yards rushing in a 30-17 loss to the Cardinals.
Said Vikings QB Brett Favre of his two interceptions, “The two picks, they rushed three and dropped eight. It’s hard to throw into that. The better decision would have been not to throw it, at least not there. In a game like this, where it is hard to stop their offense from scoring, I don’t need to give them any advantage.”
Vikings LB Chad Greenway said that it was tough to continue playing after watching LB E.J. Henderson carted off with a broken femur.
The Vikings struggled to pressure Cardinals QB Kurt Warner, who was never sacked, all night.
Both Vikings tackles, Phil Loadholt and Bryant McKinnie, left the game with injuries for a while, which forced them to shuffle their already undermanned offensive line.
Warner showed no ill effects from his concussion while leading the Cardinals to three scoring drives in the first half, including a 77-yard drive just before the half.
Cardinals WR Anquan Boldin had seven catches for 98 yards and two touchdowns in the first half.
A 64-yard punt return by Steve Breaston set up Boldin’s first touchdown catch and helped the Cardinals quickly erase a 7-0 Vikings lead.
With the Cardinals protecting a 24-10 lead in the third quarter, DB Michael Adams intercepted a Favre pass and took the wind out of the Vikings’ sails.
Don Banks of SI.com thinks the Cardinals showed they are capable of making another big playoff run in Sunday night’s victory.
