Broncos defensive coordinator Wade Phillips had to be taken off the sideline on a stretcher and hospitalized on Sunday after he was run over by Chargers running back Melvin Gordon. But today he’s in good spirits.

Phillips took to Twitter today to say that he appreciates the concern of fans who have reached out, but he’s feeling OK, already back and work, and eager to collect his “big hit award” for the week.

The 69-year-old Phillips probably hadn’t taken a hit that hard since he was a linebacker at the University of Houston in the 1960s, but he remains in good spirits and should be back on the sideline on Sunday night when the Broncos take on the Raiders.
