Young says agent change wasn’t about immediate contract

Vince Young’s agent change to CAA raised some eyebrows earlier this week.

The move isn’t about wanting a contract immediately, but made with the future in mind. He seems likely to go after a new deal if he has another strong season in 2010.

Young got the advice of some CAA clients before jumping on board -- like his old rival Matt Leinart. Since the two men came out of school in the same year, they could ultimately be going after the same free agent dollars were they to hit free agency.

The Titans quarterback says his former agent is “still family” and respected Young’s decision.

“I had to make a decision for my own. I had to do it for V.Y,’' Young said.

Nothing like a little third person action to get the morning started.
