Vikings coach Mike Zimmer told his players on Sunday that after winning their ninth game of the season, they’re winners.

The 9-5 Vikings clinched a winning record after having losing records the last two years, and Zimmer told them to take pride in that.

“We’re not done yet, we’ve still got a long way to go,” Zimmer said. “If we play like we did today and last Thursday, if we play that way, with that focus, that intensity, preparation, toughness, we’re going to do a lot of damage. We get in this thing, there’s going to be a lot. Let’s go win this division. Everybody gets a game ball because they can’t ever call you a loser again. They can never call you that. Because we’re winners from now on.”

Zimmer is echoing comments that his former boss, Bill Parcells, made in 2003 when the Cowboys clinched at least a .500 record that season. No one wants to be a loser, and the Vikings are not.
