The fullback convert has a great chance to pick up vulture TDs. But unless Brian Westbrook or Reno Mahe get injured, it’s hard to see Tapeh having fantasy value.

Eagles fullback Thomas Tapeh suffered a dislocated hip in the final minute of Monday night’s game.

Coach Andy Reid said the team was able to stablize the hip and put it “back in place.” Needless to say, Tapeh will miss the rest of the season and could be headed for a long recovery.

The Eagles will not make offers to free agent CB Will James, DL Kimo von Oelhoffen, and FB Thomas Tapeh before February 29.

James lost his nickel back job to Joselio Hanson down the stretch in 2007, so his stock won’t be high. The Birds are looking for more of a versatile fullback than Tapeh. Von Oelhoffen, 37, has very little left to offer.

Naufahu Tahi has overtaken Thomas Tapeh as the Vikings’ starting fullback.

Tahi, who weighs nearly 260, projects to be more of an old-fashioned lead blocker than Tapeh (6'1/243). Brad Childress noted Tahi’s “gigantic head.”

In addition to Bernard Berrian, free agent DE Justin Smith is believed to have set up a visit with the Vikings.

The Vikings will try to keep Berrian and Smith in Minnesota by locking them up right away. It’ll be difficult, but the Vikings have deep pockets. They’re also said to have FS Madieu Williams and FB Thomas Tapeh on their wish list.
