It looks like journeyman forward Matt D’Agostini wasn’t able to secure an NHL contract this summer as Geneve-Servette HC has announced that they’ve signed him to a one-year contract.

Geneve-Servette plays in Switzerland’s top hockey league.

D’Agostini signed a one-year, $550,000 contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins last summer, but he only played in eight games before they waived him in November. The Buffalo Sabres claimed him and he went on to record five goals and 12 points in 56 games in 2013-14. At the age of 27, he’s played in 324 career NHL contests.

This will be his first stint with a Swiss hockey team, although it’s not the first time he’s played in a European league. D’Agostini played in 10 games with Germany’s Riessersee SC during the 2012-13 lockout.
