Lindros to appear in the Winter Classic Alumni Game?

Eric Lindros

Joe linked to this morning, but if you missed it, here’s an interview former NHL star Eric Lindros did with

Some bullet points for the reading averse:

---- Lindros currently works for a company in Ontario that specializes in “online and mobile learning.” After a controversial stint with the NHLPA, it’s no surprise he’s not working in hockey anymore.

---- When asked how all the injuries (see: above) affected his play later in his career, Lindros replied quite candidly, “I had a real tough time mentally cutting across the ice. Yeah, it just wasn’t the same.”

---- Lindros confirmed he’s spoken with Flyers GM Paul Holmgren about appearing in the 2012 Winter Classic Alumni game at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. “That’d be great if I could see Mikael Renberg again, and Johnny LeClair. I haven’t seen Johnny in a couple of years.”

---- You get the feeling he remains rather disenfranchised with the business of hockey. “I still get out on the ice with a bunch of guys a couple of times a week and we have a tremendous amount of fun with the purity of the game.”
