A day after Wild head coach Mike Yeo said “everything is an issue” following his team’s 3-1 loss to the Nashville Predators, Minnesota will look to snap a four-game winless skid when they visit the Chicago Blackhawks.
It’s the second meeting between the two clubs in three days. The Blackhawks doubled up the Wild 4-2 on Thursday night.
Minnesota enters the game 2-5-3 in their past 10 games, 5-8-4 since the start of December and 1-3-4 in their past eight home games.
Chicago will look to bounce back from a 5-2 loss to the Oilers in Edmonton on Friday night. The Blackhawks have not lost consecutive games since Nov. 1-2.
The Wild have lost the first two games of the five game season series including a 5-3 loss in Chicago on Dec. 16. Goaltender Niklas Backstrom is 0-2-0 with a 3.56 G.A.A. and .877 save percentage against Chicago in 2014-15.
Corey Crawford figures to be the Blackhawks starter after getting the night of in Edmonton. Crawford is 14-5-2 in his last 21 games against the Wild to go along with a 1.94 goals-against average.
