We won’t know where Zach Parise will sign until tomorrow. Apparently the prized free agent has narrowed his list of suitors and plans to sleep on the decision as visions of dollar signs dance in his head.
As for potential destinations, Pittsburgh, Minnesota, Philadelphia and Detroit have reportedly made offers. A return to New Jersey hasn’t been ruled out either. (Not publicly, at least.)
Carolina’s advances have been rebuffed. Ditto for Dallas. And undoubtedly others.
Of note, where Parise lands is very likely to influence where Rick Nash ends up. When asked today if his team was any closer to trading its captain, general manager Scott Howson said, “No.”
