Report: Jakub Voracek bolts for Czech team in KHL
Philly’s Jakub Voracek will be calling the KHL home during the lockout.
According to NHL.com contributor Bill Meltzer, the Flyers scoring winger will be signing on with HC Lev Praha in the Czech Republic. A Czech website also confirms Voracek’s destination with the Prague-based team.
Earlier in the day, Praha landed Calgary winger Jiri Hudler and they’ve also reportedly signed fellow new Flames teammate Roman Cervenka and St. Louis center Vladimir Sobotka. Cervenka played in the KHL the past two seasons with Avangard Omsk.
We’ve seen plenty of KHL defections already thanks to the lockout and at this rate there won’t be many players left to go around. After all, the KHL has a limit on the number of NHL players a team can bring aboard.
Voracek finished last season with the Flyers scoring a career-high 18 goals and finishing with 49 points.
