Mike Hoffman is on a roll for the Ottawa Senators. In his last seven games, he has seven goals. That included a run of six goals in four games for the former fifth-round draft pick.

Currently leading the Senators with 15 goals, Hoffman is also on a one-year contract worth $2 million after an arbitration ruling last summer didn’t necessarily go his way.
At this rate, Hoffman is on pace to smash his career high in goals (27) and points (48) for a single season, set in 2014-15. And if he continues at this clip, surely it will earn him a hefty pay increase.
As noted by the Ottawa Citizen, Sens’ general manager Bryan Murray can start contract talks with Hoffman, a pending restricted free agent, on Jan. 1. But it appears he doesn’t want to turn this into a big thing going forward.
“We’re not going to go there. There are a number of players who are restricted free agents going into next year. We’re not going to make this a situation where we talk about it. If something can happen at some point, whether it’s in January or April, we’ll do that,” said Murray, as per the Ottawa Citizen.
“For the most part. Mike has really improved his game and his overall attitude in terms of working. He’s an offensive threat every time he touches the puck in the offensive zone. We like what Mike Hoffman has done.”
