Video: Cammalleri’s late third-period goal ends Kings’ point streak
For only the second time this month, the L.A. Kings missed out on gaining at least a single point in the standings.
On Saturday, with overtime looming against the Calgary Flames, the Kings saw their point streak come to an end at 11 games when Michael Cammalleri scored on Ben Scrivens with 23 seconds remaining in the third period.
The Cammalleri goal, which capped off a determined effort in the offensive zone from the veteran forward, gave the Flames a 2-1 road victory.
The Kings had tied the game just four minutes and 10 seconds earlier, on a Justin Williams goal that was the 200th of his career. Anze Kopitar added an assist, giving him his 500th career point, according to the Kings’ Twitter account.
But individual accolades were quickly forgotten about when Cammalleri scored on the back hand in close on Scrivens.
