The Toronto Maple Leafs, specifically Phil Kessel, Nazem Kadri and Daniel Winnik, were having some kind of a night on the road against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Take for example, this goal, which gave Toronto a 3-0 lead early in the third period. Columbus had since cut that deficit to two goals as of the publishing of this post.
Kessel waits and waits, and when the opportunity arises, he feeds Kadri for a pretty tap-in goal on a two-on-one rush. The trio of Kessel, Kadri and Winnik was in on two of Toronto’s first three goals on the evening, combining for six points.
Kadri has been struggling of late, with zero points in the last six games before Friday.
